She is particularly interested in immigration, crime, and the intersection of law & policy. Last summer, Riya spearhead the design and implementation of a 54-page qualitative research project documenting the history of women’s political participation and gender equality programming at the National Democratic Institute. During the school year, Riya will be competing in her sixth season of mock trial and continuing to advocate for fellow students as a Sexual Health Educator. Riya plans to seek opportunities in the legal field the 2026 summer.
