Katherine Torres ’26

She currently serves as a Multimedia Producer for the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), where she uplifts Latino voices through multimedia storytelling and advocacy. Katherine is an Obama-Chesky Voyager Scholar, through which she worked in refugee shelters in Greece and interned with journalists in Malaysia to cover stories on farmers' rights. Passionate about social impact journalism, she published a multimedia article with the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) examining how restrictive US immigration policies threaten the country’s technological competitiveness. On campus, Katherine served as president of Raíz, Wellesley’s immigrant advocacy organization, and an Admission Student Ambassador. Off-campus she runs a summer, leadership program for immigrant youth where they learn about college readiness, financial literacy, and civic engagement. After graduation, Katherine plans to pursue opportunities in Washington, D.C., at the intersection of immigration policy, education, and journalism.
