Margot Lang ’26
Over the past year, they worked as a research assistant in the MIT Media Lab’s Opera of the Future group under Tod Machover on the Wellbeing of the World project, supporting the creation of a global symphony that blends orchestral instruments and AI music models. As a Journalism Fellow at the 2025 CSIS Journalism Bootcamp in Washington, D.C., Margot co-produced a podcast segment on immigration and the semiconductor industry. As an artist, they work with sound, moving image, and interactive audiovisual media, with projects screened at Collins Cinema and exhibited at the MIT Media Lab. A senior member of the Guild of Carillonneurs, Margot is preparing a recital that combines analog and digital music; they are fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English and enjoy marathon-distance trail running. Their next professional goal is to pursue graduate study in technology and art, with the long-term aim of contributing to scholarship and creative practice at the intersection of science and art.
