Yari Sissoko ’27

Yari Sissoko
Yari Sissoko is a junior at Wellesley College studying International Relations-History with a concentration in Africa.

She has held internships with several organizations, including Human Rights Watch, where she contributed to communications strategies on global human rights issues; The Obama Foundation’s My Brother’s Keeper Alliance, where she supported initiatives advocating for young men of color in Denver; and L’essor, Mali’s national newspaper, where she published articles in French on the country’s changing economic landscape. In the fall of 2025, Yari studied abroad at Sciences Po Paris, further strengthening her academic focus on global affairs and international histories. At Wellesley, she works as a Student Assistant in the Political Science Department and is the founder of the Model United Nations Team. Passionate about humanitarian issues, Yari aspires to pursue a career in international human rights law, working with NGOs and later attending law school.
